The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) announced that the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) or the National ID portal is now open to public by April 30, based on an article published by Philippine News Agency's website.

There are 3 steps on how to have the National ID:

Step 1: Registration process of PhilSys through the online portal: Online Step 1 Registration

Step 2: Validation of the supporting documents and capture biometrics. The registration process will be at assigned registration centers.

Step 3: PhilSys Number (PSN) and Philippine Identification Card (Phil ID card) will be issued.

The registration for the National ID is free for all Filipinos.

Based on Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)'s article, Step 1 registration continues to make improvements for a smoother and more convenient registration experience for Filipinos.

Since its pilot launch, 51,640 constituents (as of May 6, 2021) have already registered using the website, while house-to-house registration in other provinces are still ongoing.
