Taytay LGU, PCUP, and CHR Push Peaceful Resolution for Sitio Igiban

The Local Government Unit of Taytay, Province of Rizal under the leadership of Mayor Allan Martine De Leon, MPA continues to demonstrate its strong commitment to resolving the concern at Sitio Igiban, Barangay San Isidro in a humane, inclusive, and lawful manner, while fully respecting the rights of property owners.


On January 26, 2026, an inter-agency meeting was held initiated by the Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor (PCUP) in coordination with the Municipal Government of Taytay, Rizal, Philippine National Police - Taytay, Rizal, and the Commission on Human Rights (CHR).


Present during the meeting were PCUP Undersecretary Michelle Anne B. Gonzales and Atty. Rowena Bartolata of the Commission on Human Rights, alongside key local stakeholders.

Chairperson Gonzales emphasized the importance of thoroughly discussing all possible alternatives to address the situation and provide appropriate assistance to the affected residents. She also expressed the continuing commitment of the PCUP to the residents of SINAI to coordinate with the concerned private subdivisions in order to promote a possible peaceful settlement.


Mayor Allan presented a comprehensive status report, detailing the concrete efforts already undertaken and the various resolution options being carefully planned to address the situation.


A meaningful and constructive discussion followed, resulting in agreed next steps that prioritize dialogue, compassion, and the protection of the rights and welfare of all parties concerned.


The Municipal Government of Taytay remains steadfast in its pursuit of a fair, peaceful, and sustainable solution for Sitio Igiban—one that upholds dignity, justice, and the rule of law.
