Metro Rail Transit 4 (MRT 4) Project
The Department of Transportation (DOTr) and Spanish - based IDOM Consulting, Engineering, Architecture, SA has officially signed the contract agreement for the detailed architectural and engineering design of the Metro Rail Transit Line 4 (MRT 4) last October 1, 2021.
Base on an article published at DOTr’s Website, the said project will traverse along the cities of Mandaluyong, San Juan, Quezon, Pasig, and the municipalities of Cainta and Taytay in Rizal Province.
DOTr Secretary Art Tugade say that “We can say now that the dream of Rizal in the Masinag extension has been realized. Today, pinapanganak po natin ang MRT-4. Gusto ko sana ay mabigyang-buhay at patotoo ito sa 2028 pero mas gusto ko kung may partial operability na ito in between nang sa gayon ay mapakinabangan ng buong sambayanan ang proyektong ito.” Asserting that the completion of the project is 2028, the concept of partial operability to be implemented in the designs, in the projects, so that we will not wait for the completion of the project until 2028. So that the people of Rizal can enjoy and experience the benefit of MRT-4
4,464 passengers per day-peak and 2,678 passengers per hour per day off-peak is projected to cater once it is operational. Estimated travel time from N. Domingo in San Juan City to Taytay is 27 minutes, from its original 45 mins. to an hour travel time.

Four MRT station will be built in our municipality, namely, San Juan Future Station, Tikling Junction Station, North Manila Road Station, and Taytay Station.
