La Niña Phenomenon May Experience During the Last Quarter of the Year
During the online forum last Friday with Department of Science and Technology(DOST), Secretary Fortunato dela Peña and Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) deputy administrator and officer-in-charge for research and development Esperanza Cayanan said that they have accomplished a climate forecast for the year, showing the normal to below-normal amount of rainfall in the third quarter and a higher amount of rainfall in the last quarter, based on an article on philstar.com.
Deputy Administrator Cayanan says (in Tagalog) that in the first three months of the semester, (which is from) July to September, we can expect rain because this is our normal rainy season. She added that toward the last quarter, we are seeing about more than 50% probability that we will experience La Niña, meaning that our country will experience more amount of rainfall than usual from October to December, according to the PAGASA official.
We do remind to bring their umbrellas, raincoats, boots, etc. against this rainy season. Don't forget to wear facemasks for the safety against the virus.
