National Government to Begin Massive Testing for Corona Virus by Mid-April
On an article published by Manila Bulletin, stated that by April 14th, our national government planned to conduct the massive testing of persons with suspected coronavirus.
Presidential peace adviser and chief implementer of the government’s action plan against the coronavirus pandemic Carlito Galvez, Jr. said that the government intends to hasten the accreditation of more coronavirus testing facilities. The country has already nine accredited hospitals with the capability to conduct tests. Only the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine(RITM) was previously the only government facility conducting laboratory tests for the coronavirus.

Galvez says on a virtual press conference last Thursday night that they are asking the DOH to expedite other hospitals’ requests for accreditation for testing so we will have other capabilities for testing.
He added that they expect to start massive testing for PUIs (patients under investigation) and PUMs (patients under monitoring) by April 14. We are also determined to fast-track the accreditation of substantial laboratories so we can start the massive testing of PUIs and PUMs.
We are still under the quarantine period, expected to last until April 12 unless lifted, extended, or expanded by the government depending on prevailing circumstances.
