The World Health Organization (W.H.O) declares this virus as 'Global Health Emergency'. According to Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director General of W.H.O, it's main reason to declare is that it is not what is happening in China but what is happening in other countries. He also describes that the virus as an "unprecedented outbreak" that has been met with an "unprecedented response".

This virus has a name: COVID-19, as reported last February 11, 2020 which stands for 'Corona Virus Disease 2019', as the illness was first detected toward the end of last year.

According to Dr. Ghebreyesus, he noted that the new name makes no reference to any of the people, places or animals associated with the coronavirus. It's goal was to avoid stigma.

On another report by the New York Times, as stated by W.H.O, the declaration or officially called a 'Public Health Emergency of International Concern', serves as a notice to all United Nations member states that the world’s top health advisory body rates the situation as serious.

This concern is that it could spread to countries with weaker health systems.

The Corona Virus is a kind of common virus that causes an infection in your nose, sinuses, or upper throat. This can infect both animals and humans. Most corona viruses are not dangerous, but some types of them are serious. Earlier this month it was identified by the World Health Organization a new type of virus: 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) in China.
