Now Open: The Newly Rehabilitated Barkadahan Bridge
The long wait is over for the motorists travelling thru Taytay and passers by who traverse the Barkadahan Bridge. The newly rehabilitated bridge is now passable to motorists.
The 253-linear meter Barkadahan Bridge is one of the major bridges in the municipality that connects the East and West Bank Roads located in Floodway, Barangay San Juan. It is the one of the shortcuts going to C-6 Road leading to Bicutan in Taguig or SLEX, and as an alternate route to Makati to avoid the traffic congestion in Ortigas Ave./Extension or C-5.
Before the rehabilitation, the bridge is only one lane on opposite side and suitable only for light vehicles. Now it is already 2 lanes wide with a wider northeast connection to the road, passable to any types of vehicles.
In a statement given by Department of Public Works and Highways(D.P.W.H) Secretary Mark Villar, travalling along Barkadahan Bridge is now guaranteed safer and smoother, much needed with the volume of vehicles, especially heavy trucks going to the eastern part of Metro Manila and Rizal that pass through everyday.
The 34 Year Old bridge was funded under under the 2019 D.P.W.H Regular Infrastructure Program, and then implemented by the D.P.W.H Rizal 1 District Engineering Office.
